The design concept and meaning of the department emblem:
The emblem of the Department of Statistics at National Chengchi University features a circular shape, showcasing its globalization and internationalization. The open book at the center of the circle represents the department's commitment to both academic research and practical applications. The normal distribution curve in the center of the book not only symbolizes the core role of probability and statistics in academic research but also represents the department's commitment to pursuing top statistical science philosophies. The Chinese characters "National Chengchi University Department of Statistics" below the book are written in the calligraphy style of the renowned calligrapher Wang Xizhi, reflecting the department's respect for traditional culture. The laurel leaves on both sides of the circular shape echo the emblem of the College of Commerce, representing the connection and collaboration between departments. The National Chengchi University emblem in the middle of the laurel leaves highlights the ownership and responsibility of the department, demonstrating its love and respect for the alma mater. The overall color scheme features a blue background and golden characters, with blue symbolizing knowledge, wisdom, and professionalism, and gold representing quality, elegance, and innovation.
